Friday October 29th, 2010 Beijing Skateboarders and BMX riders descended upon Woodward Beijing for the first ever Vans Night. In order facilitate participation Vans arranged transportation to and from Woodward, free entrance to the facilities, food and giveaways. The Vans China & Hong Kong team members, Wang Huifeng, P Dan, Chun Zai, Lung Zai, Hong Zai, A Wai and Piet, were all in attendance for the event to ride with all of the Beijing brothers and sisters. Some serious tricks went down, old friends were united and Woodward was thoroughly shredded!

With a hard to find venue we were worried no one would show up for the world premier of ‘Hu Am I?’ – however, the promise of free beer and giveaways must have guided party-goers the whole way, as the place was literally packed out by 8:30pm with the party spilling out onto the street! A big thanks goes out to all those who made it, and don’t worry if you missed out on getting a DVD as we’ll be distributing these through Quiksilver & snowboard stores over the next few weeks, as well as at our own events this winter. Vans China together with Hotpot Music presents Vans Music Night at Beijing Joycity Vans flagship store last week. Two bands TOOKOO and BIGGER BANG brought to the stage live music and sparkling energy. That remind me Switch Guitar Night in 2007.

On December 4th 2010 for the first time the legendary Air & Style contest will take place in the Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Beijing. This Snowboard event provides a unique mixture of high class snowboarding combined with musical top acts performing live on stage.

Fortunately no rain today and the sun shone like never before, therefore, more people showed up in the Modern Sky Music Festival. Converse Bank to Rail contest started a little bit earlier than yesterday’s, and offered more excitement. Che Lin won over some other competitors and finally grabbed the 3000RMB by lipslide, kickflip board slide and kgrind bs lipslide! Converse pavilion was quite a success, always busy and crowdy and with a long queue waiting to get a eco-bag. Tomorrow is programmed for Ollie contest.

After the haze yesterday, today’s weather can’t be better, with the rare blue sky and the sunshine. This afternoon, Converse Skate Contest was held in Haidian Park, being the highlight of the Modern Sky Music Festival. Have you ever seen water gap in a ramp? Here it is! I was surprised to see so many contestants coming from different cities they based in, Che Lin from Zhengzhou, Johnnie from Hong Kong, Keng Qu from Shenzhen, Hei Chai and Alex from Shanghai, Xu Ying and Xi Bin from Beijing, Hu Tianyou from Shanghai, to name a few. Eventually, Johnnie won the 3000RMB award by showing off his skillful flip 360, BS Heelflip and Big Flip. The excitement will be going on. It will be the Bank to Rail contest tomorrow. Don’t miss it!
