As always(2009,2010), KickerClub.com prepared the annual China Skateboarding review in the end of the year here. in 2011, Skateboarding keep growing fast with no doubt, the different is there are so many international cooperating happend in 2011. 2010 is very special for skateboarding in China, with lots of events hosted by those big sport brands and competitions going on a more professional and hard-cored track. The term Pro Skater weighed much more than ever before. Skate parks started to burgeon across the country. And of course, parties never stopped. This year has witnessed some ground-breaking happenings, like, Tony Hawk and Shaun White visited China, Woodward China was launched, Converse joined in the battlefield between Nike and Vans. Good news is, those who never gave up can finally make a decent living from skateboarding now. What happened in 2010 was just a beginning. There are much more to come in 2011!

More sunshine and more fun this afternoon. Today’s final adapted Best of Line and all 7 skaters were divided into 3 groups. They were given 5 minutes to jam and only the line including more than 2 tricks could be counted. Lu Junyan won the game and P Dan, Cyres follow him as 2nd and 3rd. On the other side, Wanning International Surfing Contest put the show on at the Riyue Bay. Continue read to check the photos.

To be a part of Hainan Wanning International surfing festival, Surfing China brings skate contest and 2010SDA art show to the beach. Cyres, P Dan from Vans China team, Lu Junyan, Li Jialong from Quiksilver HK team, Li Zhixing from Challenge Skateboards and A Can, Mao Chenxu shredded the beach park all the afternoon. P Dan won first day’s contest. For the surfing part, a bunch of international pro surfers were invited and they have already started to warm up in the waves of Shimei Bay.

Fortunately no rain today and the sun shone like never before, therefore, more people showed up in the Modern Sky Music Festival. Converse Bank to Rail contest started a little bit earlier than yesterday’s, and offered more excitement. Che Lin won over some other competitors and finally grabbed the 3000RMB by lipslide, kickflip board slide and kgrind bs lipslide! Converse pavilion was quite a success, always busy and crowdy and with a long queue waiting to get a eco-bag. Tomorrow is programmed for Ollie contest.

After the haze yesterday, today’s weather can’t be better, with the rare blue sky and the sunshine. This afternoon, Converse Skate Contest was held in Haidian Park, being the highlight of the Modern Sky Music Festival. Have you ever seen water gap in a ramp? Here it is! I was surprised to see so many contestants coming from different cities they based in, Che Lin from Zhengzhou, Johnnie from Hong Kong, Keng Qu from Shenzhen, Hei Chai and Alex from Shanghai, Xu Ying and Xi Bin from Beijing, Hu Tianyou from Shanghai, to name a few. Eventually, Johnnie won the 3000RMB award by showing off his skillful flip 360, BS Heelflip and Big Flip. The excitement will be going on. It will be the Bank to Rail contest tomorrow. Don’t miss it!

Another busy weekend! Taking a short break after Adidas Skate Hype last weekend, Shanghai Top Toys was holding the Baby Dragon Shanghai stop this Saturday and Sunday. This was the last chance for skaters to win their tickets to the final contest that will happen in Hangzhou in September 24th and 25th. Most of the top players in Shanghai showed up and competed. A Dee, last week’s champion and star, kept on shining this week and brought home 6,000 RMB by winning Rail and stairs contests. I can’t wait to witness the most fierce battle where all the top three from different stops will come together and fight!

Adidas Three Stripe Skate Hype4 was rounded off last weekend in Shanghai’s Top Toys Skate Park, and it represented the top level among all the contests in China I’ve seen so far this year. The best skaters in China gathered together, showing off their fanciest tricks and bringing hot waves to both nights. The real star of the whole contest is A DEE, a Taiwanese skater who just settled down in Shanghai. This Adidas’ pro skater made his way to the top and won a prize of 8,000 RMB. Since it started, Adidas Three Stripe Skate Hype has always been one of the most exciting skateboarding contests in China.
