Once again, People Mountain People Sea… More than 250 skaters and their friends (even 3 buses are not enough) went to Woodward Beijing last night for the Vans Night round 2! Glad to see more and more new faces join us, let’s keep doing it in 2011!

Friday October 29th, 2010 Beijing Skateboarders and BMX riders descended upon Woodward Beijing for the first ever Vans Night. In order facilitate participation Vans arranged transportation to and from Woodward, free entrance to the facilities, food and giveaways. The Vans China & Hong Kong team members, Wang Huifeng, P Dan, Chun Zai, Lung Zai, Hong Zai, A Wai and Piet, were all in attendance for the event to ride with all of the Beijing brothers and sisters. Some serious tricks went down, old friends were united and Woodward was thoroughly shredded!

Vans China together with Hotpot Music presents Vans Music Night at Beijing Joycity Vans flagship store last week. Two bands TOOKOO and BIGGER BANG brought to the stage live music and sparkling energy. That remind me Switch Guitar Night in 2007.

Go skateboarding day rock in China, and we have a wonderful event!
Vans brings Chinese skateboarding community together on June 20th. To skate the best skateboarding spots and parks in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu, with an evening event of music and art show. Vans has partnered with core skate accounts in SH, BJ & CD, I was invited to be attend the Beijing event, that’s pretty sick, 100% skater’s holiday!
When: 1pm till mid night on Jun.20

first stop 13:00 Wang Fu Jing Church (best trick contest) Wang Fu Jing Church is the most famous skate spot in Beijing, like the Love Park or the Brooklyn Bank in U.S.
second stop 14:30 Jian Guo Men (best of line contest) Jian Guo Men is another popular skate spot in Beijing.
third stop 16:00 Warehouse Beijing(one more contest and skate art show) WHB is the only one indoor skatepark in Beijing downtown! Found and Run by Beijing local skater Li Jian.
last stop 18:00 Yu Gong Yi Shan Bar After Party (new school punk band show and free beer and hot dog) Yu Gong Yi Shan is one of the best live music live house.

The skateboarding community were enthusiastic about the event, drinks & food, tons of giveaways at every skateboarding spot and park, which also attracted many new participants to discover the skateboarding culture. The famous movie star, skateboarding lover, Xia Yu joined the stop at Warehouse Beijing to skate with the crew, as well as to the night party to enjoy the celebration in Yu Gong Yi Shan Bar with all. In the party, 20 selected art piece from the skateboarding community and Vans Fans were exhibited in the bar and with the performance of the Top local punk band Reflector, all participants were experiencing the China skateboarding culture along with the art, music and fashion atmosphere.

After the contest, all the skaters skating 5 mins to the park through Hutong.
Vans prepared two bus to take all the skaters to the next stop–Jian Guo Men Square

Best of line contest there, they prepared one box one bar and one cannot
Skate Dice Game, there are 6 trick name on the six surface of the dice, throw the huge dice and you got a trick, do it, if you land, you got a vans limited oldschool deck.

Beijing – 20th.Jun, 2010: In honor of International Go Skateboarding Day, Vans brings Chinese skateboarding community together on June 20th. To skate the best skateboarding spots and parks in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu, with an evening event of music and art show. Vans has partnered with core skate accounts in SH, BJ & CD, and invited a special guest, a long-time skater, the famous movie star Xia Yu, to celebrate the sports and culture of skateboarding.
Go Skateboarding Day, held on June 21st every year, is the official oliday of skateboarding. The holiday began on June 21, 2003 and was founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies ( IASC) and began witih a few simple skate sessions and BBQs held in skateboarding’s unofficial capital, Southern California. Go Skateboarding Day gives passionate skateboarders, as well as those who are simply inspired by skateboarding, the opportunity to drop everything and get on a skateboard.
In a homage to Vans roots as the original action sports footwear brand since 1966, and introducing the world’s first skateboarding shoe, the Era, in 1976, designed in partnership with skateboarding Legends Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta; Vans is excited to activate this global event across multiple countries in Asia Pacific.
“We’re super excited to bring the Chinese skateboarding community together again for the 2nd year in a row to celebrate skateboarding with the local crew, as well as to invite new participants to discover skateboarding culture. This year to maximize participation, we will hold the event on Sunday, June 20th, with art show and music to celebrate it!” Said Mathew Morgan, Vans Sports Marketing Manager.
The BJ event kicks off at Wang Fujin Church, ends in Yu Gong Yi Shan Live Hse with the Top local Punk Band REFLECTOR’s performance and Xia Yu’s presence to celebrate the date. The Shanghai event starts at #706 Changle Rd Vans store, and the Chengdu event begins at Vans Retail Store at Di Yi Cheng, passes by the Chairman Mao’s statues on Ren Min Rd and all events are with lots of drinks and fantastic music in the local popular bars.
Vans is excited to bring the annual event to all Chinese youth to inspire their self expression!
