Headed over to Montauk, NY last weekend to chill and get some surf. Not too much surf action went down since their was no swell so I just skated around town checking out the scene. First night I arrived I skated down the road to the 711 and hit a patch of darkness and a deer ran out and jetted back into the woods! I was like WTF?! and bailed on someone’s lawn LOL what a wake up call for me. Montauk is long island but it’s the furthest point east and has lots of wildlife strolling through. What a beautiful place. The next day everyone linked up at the Surf Lodge hotel waiting to hear the news about the contest because it was on hold until the swell picked up. Then later on someone announced that the swell was picking up, And we all jetted down to ditch plains to start the contest. Nothing major just 1-2ft. But it was cool to see the worlds top long boarders there doing some sick nose riding in all the heats. The winners were announced Justin Quintal from Florida took $4,000 for first place, Aussie Harrison Roach took $3,000 for second, Mike Detemple a Long Island native took $2,000 for third and Tyler Warren SoCal longboarder took $1,000 for fourth spot. Props to Vans for putting on such a rad event!

Besouro – Theatrical trailer

07 October 2010, 19.50 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Any one who knows about Brazilian culture is well aware of capoeira. The Afro-Brazilian self defense that was created by slaves in Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro. A lot of you are familiar with films such as “City of God” which takes you into the Favelas of Brazil, with a inside look into the lives of street gangs in the drug trade. I’m really stoked about Besouro because we can see another side of Brazil that needs to be shown, instead of the violent street gang films that are so popular with the masses. Peep the trailer because this film looks like it’s going to be really DOPE!
