Sitting here in the office and it’s a heat wave outside on the streets of NYC. I get a email from my homie ALex Mc Cumber with a photo of hitting up some pow at Mt Marriot, Cayoosh Range, BC; then BOOM I started getting into Snowboard mode lol. Lately my mind has been on Surf mode and don’t want to think about snow since I can’t afford a trip to Chile (yep, I’m hating) LOL. So I asked Alex about the conditions that day he took the photo and said: “It was one of those magic days – the basin had seen a few weeks of continuous heavy dumps and a few days of overcast meant the snow pack had settled down without the freeze thaw cycles that make for dangerous unstable snow conditions. That morning the clouds cleared and we did a few runs on this south facing slope which was usually too dangerous to try because of sun exposure – nothing too steep but just buttery flowy fun. Its these few seconds of perfection that keep me coming back. Me and the powder donut chillin the same day.”
