Escape from New York!

Snow definitely is amazing when you can get to ride it but can really suck when it traps you and paralyzes your entire city!

Since the blizzard hit on Sunday I’ve been doing everything in my power to escape.

Right as the 1st flurries were coming down we hopped in the Jeep and headed up to Stratton, VT to get our 1st day of the season in and it was PROPER!

The snow gods blessed us with a healthy dump and we got the early chair up to enjoy the freshness!

We got 1st dibs on the pow and my new Burton ride was the ultimate cruiser for the finest conditions I’ve seen this early in years.

Once the late risers showed up we took the shuttle over to Snowbowl and got it in on some untouched goodness all over again!

But after a few runs the wind kicked in so we headed for cover on the magic carpet which provided some nice shelter from the craze.

And now if the plows can clean up this mess I can finally get to whats been waiting for me in Whistler!

U.S. Open of Snowboarding Recap

The 28th U.S. Open of Snowboarding Championships up at Stratton, VT this past weekend was another one for the history books.

Amazing weather, good peoples and next level riding guaranteed another memorable East Coast snow bash!

Big congrats to the riders and all who made this possible!!

There were too many good times to write about so we wanted to bring you there with some images of the action that went down after the jump…

Mikkel Bang out of Norway scored a major win in slopestyle with a pretty insane run consisting of a switch front board to revert, front board 180 out, Cab 1080, switch backside 1260 Indy, frontside 1080, and a gap front board to fakie shifty!! Bang beat out fellow Norwegian shredder Ulrik Badertscher and Canadian Seb “Toots” Toutant for the $20G’s!!
Kazuhiro “KAZU” Kokubo soaring above the crowds for an impressive 1st place win.
Louie Vito executed another triple double run to a lock down a 2nd place victory even though some are questioning how this dude didn’t clinch 1st place with a run like that.
Happy B-Day kid and keep reppin!
I-Pod killed his run with one of the smoothest and biggest double McTwist 12’s in the game!

Champion status!
Party time for the ladies! 1st place Kelly Clark, 2nd place Kaitlyn Farrington and 3rd place Ellery Hollingsworth!

Kevin Pearce, without a doubt, had the most presence at the Open this year which only shows how much his FRENDS really care about him!

After all riding with your friends is what snowboarding is all about..isn’t it???

Last night at Mile High Station in Denver, CO Frank151 and Snowboard Mag joined forces and did it properly once again for their Annual SIA Tradeshow Party bringing out Wu-Tang’s HNIC, RZA and FRANKRADIO’s very own Wiz Khalifa & Jasmine Solano to put the smash down on Denver! Big ups to all who came out to support and enjoy the festivities with us and definitely looking forward to doing it just as BIG once again next year! TROUBLE IN WHISTLER!

Trouble Andrew had their 1st show of 2010 up at Garf’s in Whistler Village Sunday night and it wouldn’t have been a true Trouble show unless there was some trouble and of course their was. Halfway through their 2nd song some wasted idiot in the front row tried to rip the mic cord out which almost ended the show. The guilty party wound up getting escorted out of the club after throwing a bottle at Trouble which hit him dead in the face! Dude didn’t skip a beat but found out after the show that this fool actually called 911 and Trouble was then escorted to the police station after the show.

Peep the last photo and you tell me who’s the guilty one??
