To celebrate the worldwide launch of the new Nike+ Basketball technology, Nike hosted a slam dunk contest at LA Live’s Nokia Plaza. Celebrities, musicians and taste-makers from across the globe packed themselves into the bleachers to watch five of the world’s best street dunkers: Young Hollywood, Airdogg, Jonesy, Reemix and Jus Fly. The Contest was hosted by an assortment of judges which included the likes of ScHoolboy Q and Keri Hilson. Q even ripped a few verses for the crowd prior to the contest. All the dunkers were flying around every-which way you could imagine, but it was Jus Fly who had the ultimate hops to take the victory. The Hyperdunk+’s are out in stores now. Peep the site here.

I know Mike Shinoda from some other work I’ve done. He’s a super-nice dude and his band, Linkin Park came out with a new album last month. The listening party was held at a gallery on La brea and featured an exclusive multi-sensory installation created by Japan’s Good Smile Company. I saw legendary Santa Monica street-styler, Natas Kaupas there. The Don, Rick Rubin was in the house as well. The Patron open bar was the business! I took some pics.
