PARRA – How Original

Dutch artist, Parra is a nice guy and I like his depictions of curvy, womanly figures. His aesthetic seems tame at first, but his characters make me somewhat nervous due to their morphing, animal-like quality. This was the first time I had seen original works other than prints, which was dope. I especially liked the large-scale mural he did in the back lot. Tyler’s HVW8 gallery has a really nice, neighborhood-y feel to it and his events are always chill and fun. On my way out, I saw a baby on the floor sucking on an iPhone.
