This is COMUNE’s third teaser for their movie, “Black Holes and Invisible Forces Bending Time Through Particle Deformation Creating Infinite Freedom in the Garden On The Moon.” This one is titled, “Slime Time” and was filmed and edited by Corey Smith & Ryan Scardigli. For all you kids out there complaining that there wasn’t enough snowboarding in the last ones, this teaser is full of it. Enjoy.

COMUNE Teaser: Number 2

25 May 2010, 17.14 | Posted in Snowboarding, Video | No comments »

This is the second teaser the COMUNE has put out for their avant-garde snowboard film, “Black Holes and Invisible Forces Bending Time Through Particle Deformation Creating Infinite Freedom in the Garden On The Moon.”…. or as I like to call it, BHIFBTTPDCIFGM. Their first teaser seemed to bring up a lot of hate since it only featured a few snowboard clips. Well this one, titled “Motel Jezebel” by Andrew Kuykendall, has none. Which will probably make kids even more pissed off. But I say good for COMUNE, they are obviously doing something different and running with it. Stay tuned for the third teaser.

The Results: Origami Hats

I’m going to be honest with you… when I made this How To: Origami Hat post, I didn’t really think anyone would actually pull through and make the thing. But people did, and I’m stoked. Some even went to the extent of getting their mom buzzed to pose in their pictures (see above). Every time I received one of these shots in my e-mail, it seriously made my day. I’ll have to come up with some more how-to’s,  but for now check out the rest of the entries after the jump.

Vans OTW Launch Party: RZA

This past weekend I joined TWSnow’s associate editor, Adam Hawes, at the launch party for Vans’ OTW collection in downtown Los Angeles. I never go anywhere without a camera so I shot pictures throughout the night and Adam ended up using them on Transworld’s blog. Take a look at more photos from the night here.

COMUNE: Snowboard Movie

17 May 2010, 07.55 | Posted in Snowboarding, Video | No comments »

COMUNE recently released a teaser of their avant-garde snowboard film, “Black Holes and Invisible Forces Bending Time Through Particle Deformation Creating Infinite Freedom in the Garden On The Moon.” Yes that is the title… if I made that into an acronym is would still be damn long, BHIFBTTPDCIFGM. Incredible. This teaser (edited by Corey Smith & Ryan Scardigli, titled “Burn the Witch”) is the first in a series they will be releasing leading up to the premiere of their full-length film in October, 2010. And of course COMUNE is going to go completely outside the box with this one, featuring not only snowboarding, but multiple edits from different contributing artists as part of their Drop City project. You are in for a treat.

Love their song choice for this teaser, “My Body’s a Zombie for You” by Dead Man’s Bones. If you haven’t heard of them check out their other songs as well. Good stuff.

Buoloco: Benedek & LeBlanc

14 May 2010, 11.59 | Posted in Interview, Snowboarding, Video | 2 comments »

Ed over at Buoloco has been busting out more and more interviews with some of the greats in snowboarding. At least I find them interesting. Above is the one and only David Benedek, if you consider yourself a snowboarder and don’t know who he is then you better pick up the Robot Food movies. In his interview above he had some interesting things to say about kids following trends. Then below is Mikey LeBlanc, the man that needs no introduction. This was a short and sweet interview about what he thinks it means to be “core”. He gave one of the most original/honest answers I have heard in response to that question. I have a feeling I am going to have to answer that same question soon. So, what you think it means to be “core”?

LA Night: Corey Smith

Over the weekend I made a stop at Corey Smith’s house up in LA. His living room is a photographer’s dream come true, a built in seamless. So we spent the night messing around shooting photos. More shots after the jump.

Check out some of Corey’s photos from the night on his photo blog.

So I know Brad already posted this on the main Rad Collector page… but it is so good that I had to post it on mine as well. Whitey made this intro to Skate 3. If you don’t know who Whitey is, do your homework. But for now sit back and enjoy.
