With the weather in the New York Region being extremely unseasonable I thought I would never see the snow. This past weekend I had the pleasure of Judging, Rails 2 Riches at Killington Vermont. I have been Judging this event for 5 years now and every year it gets bigger and better! I went up with my new best Frend MAX ( a 60lb Pitt Mastiff Rescue Dog ) and my SnoBro Sara Lester.
We headed up on Thursday late night to avoid the traffic. Got up super early to ride on Friday which was 10 degrees out. Well worth the frost bite. No one was on the hill. Saturday I had to Judge all day. Congrats to Forest Bailey on 1st place and Shawn Murphy on a strong 2nd! Nice job Vermonters!

I would also like to thank, Marc “Spanky” Perras, Tess of Killington Events, Killington Parks Crew and Sushi Yoshi North!

My New Favorite Band

A couple of weeks ago I worked on this SHUT promo raffle online contest with Greenshoelace through my friend Theresa from Musebox and gave away a SHUT skateboard to one lucky winner. So Theresa hooked me up with a plus one to the show that they were promoting. The band was called VIOLENT SOHO. I went to the show not knowing anything about the band. It was at Pianos located in NYC’s Lower East Side. Dope Lunch specials BTW.  When I got there I ran into my barber Mr. Bee from Franks Chop Shop, who is a connoisseur of the same type of music I like and he also always puts me onto some new shit that I’m not as privy to hear. So with that being said I was confident that I would enjoy this Band. And you know you can always trust your barber!
Not only did I have a good time but this band is my New favorite Grunge Rock band. A bit of Nirvana and Mud Honey, with a Monster Metal Stage presence. This four piece band from Mansfield, Brisbane is going to be a huge hit here in NY and the US. Mark my words!
They have have a show coming up at SouthPaw in BKLYN on Dec. 16th, 2009.
you can listen to them on http://www.myspace.com/violentsoho  “Jesus Stole my Girlfriend” is a great track. Also for the free downloads check out
