My buddy Marcus Montenegro of Outpost Studios invited us for a last minute wall ride session. Good times were had by all! Skaters from KCDC, SHUT, Wampum and a grip local NYC skaters and spectators came thru to shred this amazing space and hang out. Thank you D.J. SMOKE L.E.S for killing it on the beats and getting busy on the wall. Check out my photos by clicking the “read more” to view all the action.

My good friend Julio Pardo is showing his photography this Sunday in Brooklyn. It’s going to be sick! I was privy enough to get a peek at the zine tonight. I’m sure the exhibit will hold up to its expectations of the zine. MIA Skate Shop hosted “The Blackout Photo Show” sponsored by OTW Vans during Art Basel. This is just what I needed after walking Art Basel’s extensive and overwhelming to say the least art show. Ako and Atiba Jefferson had their photo show in downtown South Beach Miami this past Saturday Night at the world famous MIA Skate Shop. Photos of Tony Alva, John Cardiel and recent trip down to Jamaica were displayed in the MIA Skate Shop that was converted into a dope Gallery fully equiped with plenty of beer and kick ass music by the Jefferson Duo. Great hanging with MIA’s Crew Chris, Andre, Joel Meinholz, Pres Rodriguez, Rambo, Ryan Dewitt, Amy Gunther, IO, Jason Dill, Mike Malbon, Kevin Kellett, Jon Newport and Yelawolf.
Check out my photo’s from the night here.

Taji Ameen’s MILK Gallery Recap

Celebrating Four Twenty last night at MILK Gallery was awesome! They had about Sixty of New York’s Up and coming “Next Generation” Photographers showing off their best. One of them was my good buddy Taji Ameen who I have known since he was about 12 Years old Skateboarding for a company I used to work for. Taji is now 21 ish and his photo skills just keep getting better. And so has his Skateboard Career and impact on the NYC Skateboarding Community. The best part about Taji’s photo is that it’s a photo of Mark Gonzales who is one of my favorite Skateboarders. Check out some more fans of Taji’s photo after the jump.

Help Is On The Way Photo Show | Recap

08 December 2010, 01.38 | Posted in Photography | No comments »

Radcollector gave you the heads up on this one and I hope that if you live in the NYC area you were able to peep the “Help Is On The Way Photo Show” down in the LES.
My buddy Taji Ameen was one of seven young New York City Artist who had his photos featured in the show and celebrated his “21″st Birthday! The show was packed with local skateboarders, hot fashion girls and LES regulars. Everyone was psyched on the art work as well as the scene that overstayed the small future home of Caffe Vita. Nice work Taji, and great seeing your Dad, Robby supporting the arts!

I’m in Miami Bitch!

This past weekend I flew to Miami for the Full Bleed Book Exhibit presented by Vice at Black Bar, aka The Max Fish of Miami. Got down on Friday morning and checked into The Standard Spa and Hotel with NYC friends. We had a grip of rooms poolside and spent majority of our free time at the pool and spa. The event was Saturday night and it was a huge success! My super rad cousins Heather and Suzy showed up along with tons of close friends and NYC transplants. All night I felt like I was back in NY between the bars atmosphere and DJ Elle on the ones and twos, it was a bizarro LES feel. Party went late and I had to bounce to take advantage of the 24 hour pool at the hotel.
Surviving Sunday after the gig I had no problems dragging myself to the beach for the recovery from the night before. Which was needed so I could be on point for The Standards Bingo night hosted by Miss Erica “Spelling Champ” Frickling. After Bingo we went to Joel’s party, “Chocolate Sunday’s”. Party is dope! Had a blast.
The whole long weekend was amazing. RAD time in Miami and I will see you all soon!
Thank you Alex, Ivory and Andre for selecting my photo to be in the book, page 212 and for the photo being part of the gallery events in NY, LA, Miami and…
I would also like to thank Remy and Lauren at Vice and SHUT. Thank you to my New Miami kids Pres Rodriguez of Black Bar, DJ Keen One, The Standards Claudia and Erica, Robert Santiago, David Boxwill, Joel Meinholz and The Homies at MIA Skate Shop.
