An event that could only truly go down in the heart of Brooklyn, The Afro Punk Festival is set to go off this 4th of July Weekend. Taking over the entire BAM complex off Flatbush Ave, downtown BK, Shut Skateboards, ESPN, Nike SB, Mountain Dew, Frank151, and more are hosting a film festival, skate contest, BMX contest, and mad concerts from July 3rd to 8th. Highlights include a screening of Hood to the Woods, the documentary by Brian Deka Paupaw about finding his way from the streets of Bed-Stuy to the hills of Chile and British Columbia and Living Colour headlining. Go here for complete schedule info and peep the poster art series after the jump.
