hubble Quiksilver Hubble Preview
It looks like 2011/12 is going to be all about big face goggles with several makers debuting super dope models with an emphasis on peripheral vision. At the top of the heap is the new Quiksilver goggle developed with Travis Rice, the Hubble. True to the name, the goggle is on some space age shit and features the first ever 180º multi-base spherical lens. A more detailed look to come.

Arnette is charging hard into the goggle space with two new models set to unveil at SIA in Denver this week. The Series 3 (above) and the Mercenary after the jump are supported by Arnette’s rad new snow team Devun Walsh, Dustin Craven, Seth Marben, and Sage Kotsenburg. anon is back with their 2011 line, a new site and some new additions to their team. Back to being goggle specific, the new site features a lens simulator that lets you get a look at lens tints and how they would realistically function in multiple natural light scenarios. On the team side, Jack Mitrani, Johnnie Paxson and Bode Merrill were called up to join Jake Welch, Hannah Teter, Peetu Piiroinen, Annie Boulanger, Jeremy Jones, Frederik Kalbermatten, Gabi Viteri, Mark Landvik and Nic Sauve to create one massive crew of heavy hitters.

Burlington, Vermont’s dedicated glove brand, Drop has announced that they will be branching out into goggles for the 2010/2011 season. 6 models ranging from a mind blowing $35 to a more realistic sounding $130 and backed by TJ Schneider and Forest Bailey will be unveiled at SIA in Denver next week. We’ll have looks at them then.

ESPN, who has been killing it in the last year since dropping the X in favor of Action, has done it again with their 2010 Winter Gear Guide. Taking it to a level normally only associated with print content, the Slash Action crew did a series of on-location shoots in spots ranging from Pike Street Market in Seattle to Roddy’s Bar in Boise Idaho and the grimy streets of NYC.
