Burton x R. Crumb

Rad Collector - Burton x R. Crumb
As part of their ill Private Stock project, which kicked off last season with Ron English, Burton has linked up with elusive cult hero R. Crumb for the new Fritz the Cat Twin V Rocker board. Definitely a collector’s piece, the board retails for a mellow $399 so don’t expect it to last long at retail. Speaking of that, you may have to hunt a bit, only 100 retailers along with the flagship stores in NY, LA and the Chi will have these.

We broke this news way back in February and now the official announcement has finally come out for the 686 x New Balance boot, sneaker, outerwear and accessory collection. In their words “The collection is a perfect combination of historical legitimacy, quality craftsmanship, technical wisdom and progressive minimalist design.” We can’t wait to get this stuff on the hill. Stay tuned for info on launch events on both coasts. All items are available now at the new 686.com.

Snowboard Jedi

Rad Collector - Snowboard Jedi
Now they are disrespecting snowboarding and Star Wars? What has the world come to? We just referenced Jedi abilities in our post on Shaun White’s double corks in New Zealand and then we see this? Snowboard Jedi? Please will someone from Lucasfilms send these people a cease and desist?! The funniest part is that it seems like they just flipped the wording from any other self help scam so it says “riding” where it use to say “life” or “earning.” And check out the opening tagline: “Imagine a Secret Guarded So Tightly by Professional Snowboarders They’d do Almost Anything to Keep it From You!” Watch out yo, JP Walker might be waiting in a back alley for you! Rad Collector - Burton AK 2010 Jackets
Now that The Good Book is out, expect to see a lot of dope shit from Burton. First up is AK. Always ultra-tech, AK has gotten more and more fly over the past three years in particular and now sits at the top of Burton’s style chain as well as its performance portfolio. AK 2010 has just shipped to Burton’s flagship stores in NY, LA, and Chicago. Hit HighSnob for looks at the 3L Continuum, 2L Stagger, 2L Turbine, 2L Jussi Anorak, and the 2L Cyclic jackets.

Team Thunder Beauville Trailer

They must have knees of steel in Beauville. Team Thunder aka Ben Gustafson, Cody Comrie, Joe Mertes, Eric Fernandez, Martin Campbell, Justin Keniston, Jordan Michilot, Will Tuddenham, and associated homies are doing a lot of dropping to flat in their new flick coming this fall. Looks fun as hell though. Enjoy this trailer until the cease and desist for the Beatles songs comes in…actually maybe the lawyers are too busy with MJ to deal. Via Mpora.

Louie Vito on Dancing With The Stars

Rad Collector - Louie Vito on Dancing With The Stars
No fucking way. In what is either a further sign that the apocalypse is upon us or one of the slickest hustles a pro rider ever pulled off, it’s been announced that Louie Vito will be on this season’s Dancing With the Stars. Co-stars include Donny Osmond, Kelly Osbourne, and ex congressman Tom Delay. This shit is too crazy!

Burton 2010 Catalog | The Good Book

17 August 2009, 17.00 | Posted in catalogs, snowboarding | 17 comments »

Rad Collector - Burton 2010 Catalog The Good Book
Burton Snowboards have unveiled their full catalog for 2010, The Good Book. With both a biblical design as well as a bible’s worth of product, The Good Book is meant to bring back that old “I just got my Burton catalog” feeling that existed before the time of the interweb. Features include gold leafing on the pages and cover, a silk ribbon placeholder and a 33 page photo gallery with photography from Blotto Photto, Jeff Curtes, and Adam Moran that rivals any shred mag’s photo issue. Along with that are Burton’s full hard and softgood products lines including The White Collection, B By Burton, AK, GMP, Restricted, R.E.D, and anon. Most impressive are probably Burton’s unbelievably detailed tech specs and performance analyses. From deciphering camber and rocker board tech to precise fit charts for outerwear, the Good Book is as much of a reference tool as it is a catalog. You can request a free copy by signing up here or by hitting up Burton flagship stores in NYC, LA, Chi-town and BVT on September 1. A peak at The Good Book after the jump.

Shaun White Double Cork at NZO

17 August 2009, 13.33 | Posted in contests, snowboarding, videos | No comments »

You have to respect this kid. The more haters Shaun White picks up, the way more iller his bag of tricks becomes. He really is on some Obi-Wan “strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you could ever imagine” shit. Check him out diabolically murdering the Burton New Zealand Open this past weekend with back to back double cork spins and then go back to perfect Spicoli-esque nonchalance for the post run interview. His Jedi is on point, there’s no argument about that. Via TTR.

Lucas Magoon Hospitalized

Lovable shred lunatic Lucas Magoon was admitted to the hospital in Reno, Nevada yesterday after a fall skating, according to many web sources. There also seems to be a lot of speculation about whether he has insurance or not. Let’s hope he’s ok. We’ll keep you updated on his progress.
