Von Zipper just freshened up their website with the addition of all their summer softgoods and eyewear as well as their 2010 goggles. Get over to there to peep freshies like the Banana Hammock trunk with integrated fanny pack, the Bunker sunglasses dropping late July, and the John Jackson Skullcandy goggle collab with the integrated money clip headphone system. It’s all right here.

Ian Gentil Wins NSSA Nationals

01 July 2009, 20.48 | Posted in Competitions, surfing, videos | No comments »

Here is a reason to quit surfing – no matter what you do in your life you will never catch up with this kid. Like a true child prodigy, 13 year old Nike 6.0 surfer Ian Gentil just won the Open Boys competition at NSSA Nationals by getting a perfect score for only the third time in NSSA history! Lil homie hit two perfect 10’s for a perfect score of 20, something that has only happened twice before in 31 years. Damn! Peep the steez above.

Rad Collector - Dogtown Knives
In some “why the hell not” as well as some “can’t believe no one did this before” news, someone has made knives with mini skateboards for handles. They’re definitely radder than a tech deck, however the overall gulliness of Snake Head Knives’ site does raise a little doubt as to whether these things are legit or not. See for yourselves here. Via Skate and Annoy. Another blade after the jump.

Emerica Wild in the Streets Video

01 July 2009, 16.13 | Posted in Events, Skate Parks, Skateboarding | No comments »

Emerica recently took over Vancouver for their first “foreign” edition of Wild in the Streets. In addition to running amok with every skater in town, they paid homage to Leeside Skatepark and Lee Matasi with some exclusive tee shirts. Check out the madness right here – this is what the world would look like if skateboarders took over – for reals! Via Skateboarder Mag.

Proper | Mike Miller Edit

30 June 2009, 22.42 | Posted in bmx, videos | No comments »

Proper’s got a sick new edit of Mike Miller circulating right now. From park to street to trail, there is nothing that he doesn’t totally destroy. Going heavy with Pelican’s “Lost in the Headlights” makes it even more gnarly. Via Lotek.

Sven “Sprosse” Lehmann Mellow Park Edit

30 June 2009, 21.40 | Posted in bmx, videos | No comments »

Check out this sick little edit of Sven “Sprosse” Lehmann going bananas at Mellow Park. The kid goes huge! It’s not Miami, though, he’s in Berlin biiiitch! Via KHE Bikes.

Quiksilver Signature Skate Denim

Rad Collector - Quiksilver Signature Skate Denim
For Holiday 09 Quiksilver will be dropping three new signature skate jeans. Developed for Reese Forbes, Danny Garcia, and Alex Olson, all three pieces feature stretchable, moisture-wicking Cool Max fabric. Sound too techy? Hell no. Radcollector took all three pairs out on a test skate yesterday and in hot-as-balls NYC, you couldn’t ask for anything better. The little bit of stretch takes the chafe away and lets you hold shit in your pockets without the seams immediately starting to bust. You definitely don’t get nearly the hot crotch and the jeans stay pretty dry. All three are good cuts with minimal detailing, so no one will ever know your secret. Individual looks after the jump.

30 June 2009, 18.36 | Posted in bmx, environment, videos | No comments »

Nike 6.0 BMX has joined the fight against the planet’s over reliance on gasoline by teaming up with Beat Gasoline, an organization trying to reduce gas use. To launch their campaign they dropped this rad PSA of Dennis Enarson, Garrett Reynolds, Nigel Sylvester, and Mike Spinner ripping around London and demonstrating what we all know is true: skating or riding any city is way more fun than driving a car. They are also running a contest for the best home made videos illustrating this point. Winners will get product and a donation to charities of their choice. Go here to enter.
