Mike Giles contributor Deck

Rad Collector - Mike Giles contributor Deck
Mike Giles has just posted an image of his new deck for the contributor organization we mentioned a couple days ago as part of the Mumble x Furni collab. If you don’t know about contributor, it’s a program to provide skateboards to any kid in Canada that cannot afford one. Although you might not associate Canada with poverty, there are evidently some people outside of the country’s generous social welfare system who need some help. In any case, skateboards for kids is a worthwhile cause anywhere in the world. For the project Giles re-interpreted his first pro deck, the Jeff Grosso Santa Cruz. Check out the original reference after the jump.

Rad Collector - Snow Park NZ
ESPN slash Action has an interesting interview with Sam Lee from Snow Park NZ, a sick pipe and park facility in New Zealand’s southern Alps. For the last three years Snow Park hosted the Burton New Zealand Open but then realized that they would need a massive overall to continue to maintain an event of that size. Rather than grow, or even close as some rumors were saying, Snow Park decided to return to their roots as a local mountain. Read the whole thing here.

A Weekend of Trails

24 June 2009, 00.46 | Posted in bmx, videos | No comments »

Parks are cool and street is rad as hell but there is something to be said for pure trail riding. Other than maybe a sheer face of powder after a heli drop, nothing looks more fun than to be ripping around the forest like Legolas Greenleaf on a bike. Check out Don Hill, Steve Hope, Bad Rick, Neil Pengilley, Michael Ferguson, Ryan Hallet, and Martin Tambling living the dream over in the UK in this rad video from Tartan BMX. Via The Come Up.
