Spectre by Supra Launch Event

Lil Wayne might have had half of a down minute upon learning that Mountain Dew was dropping him over some bullshit but he couldn’t have mourned for too long because he had to get it cracking for the Miami launch party for his new brand within Supra, Spectre. We got the 420 kit/invite but couldn’t make it MIA for the party, check out some pics of what we missed, including appearances by Keelan Dadd, Stevie Williams, and Chad Muska, and the announcement that Chaz Ortiz is going to ride for Spectre after the jump.

Mountain Dew Drops Weezy

03 May 2013, 18.37 | Posted in WTF | 3 comments »

According to TMZ, Mountain Dew has dropped Lil Wayne from their global marketing campaign after taking offense at a line mentioning Emmet Till. How white people coule take money away from a black person for making a reference to an incident in which white people murdered an innocent black person is so far beyond comprehension that thinking about it might make your head explode. We’re going to have to side with LilTunechi on this one.

Supra | Lil Wayne Vice Pack

You gotta love ‘Merica. Only here could a dude supposedly on probation and not allowed to drink alcohol or smoke weed put out a collection of sneakers that celebrate those things. But hey that’s what makes this country rad! And we’ll take a pair of the S1W “Tree Camo’s” in a heartbeat. Check out the Skytop III “White Cup,” and the Vaider Lite “Candy Paint” after the jump.

SUPRA x Lil Wayne | Stevie Williams S1W

Supra would be stoops to not maximize the fluck out of their relationship with Lil Wayne so it’s no surprise that they had him design a pair of Stevie Williams’ S1W’s. It’s also not surprise that he made them red. Check out Weezy in full regalia after the jump.

dose | Lil Wayne, P-Rod and Theotis Beasley in New Orleans

28 September 2012, 16.20 | Posted in interviews, Music, Skate Parks, Skateboarding | 1 comment »

Lil Wayne and Mtn Dew opened the DeWeezy aka Trukstop skate park at the Lower 9th Ward Village Community Center this Wednesday with an opening ceremony that included appearances from the Birdman and Juvenile and an epic skate session with Paul Rodriguez, Theotis Beasley, Keelan Dadd, Justin Schulte, Cody Davis, Boo Johnson and Carlos Zarazua. The facility, which was created from recycled materials and features the largest solar powered array in the Gulf, is a bright spot in a neighborhood that still hasn’t fully recovered from Hurricane Katrina. In fact, there are numerous abandoned buildings on the same block as the park. Despite all the skepticism of Wayne’s involvement in skateboarding, it seems clear from this interview with Tim Brodhagen and the fact that he charged the park for almost two hours that he is committed from the heart. You be the judge.

The Game | Celebration Video

There are a million ways to go on this one – is this corporate hucksterism masquerading as hip hop, is The Game trying to look like Lebron James, are Chris Brown and Drake ever going to fight, why is Weezy talking about guns when he’s surrounded by skaters? But whether you are a hater or not, you know P-Rod, Nyjah Huston, Nugget, David Loy, Jereme Rogers and the rest of the crew had a fuckin blast on set that day. Let em live!

It’s inarguable that Lil Wayne’s foray into skate is fascinating on many levels, here’s to hoping that his new 10 part web series isn’t just one long Mountain Dew commercial.

Weezy x CCS | Behind the Cover

As you probably already know, Lil Wayne is on the cover of the May CCS catalog with P-Rod, T-Puds, Theotis and Nugget. Either this is an amazing crossover between cultures or an Illuminati plot, but we’re done thinking about it. Can’t we all just skate along? Cue the haters…
