With the ocean and the city skyline sparkling in the background, local Van shredders got to hit full scale recreations of the Red Ledge, Burlington Double Set, and a BC Electrical Box while Louie Vito, Greg Bretz, and Elena Hight got to have their first chill-out day on the hill all year. Here’s Greg and Louie as well as some of the action from the day. Read more on ESPN.

6.05 Nike 6.0 Snowboard Outerwear
Nike 6.0 hasn’t been steadily assembling the gnarliest young snowboard team in the world for nothing. After a hint at Agenda in January, they announced in Denver during SIA that they would be jumping into the snowboard outerwear game full-on. Taking a cue from their big brother Nike Snowboarding, the collection is tight and focused on 6.0 reinterpretations of classic Nike pieces like the M65 and Windrunner. They also had a super solid down puffy. If their overall program is any indication, this line is going to do well. More looks after the jump.

Rad Collector linked up with Nike 6.0 and the Brooklyn-based label Caranguejo do Norte to create these 1 of 1 “Beleza” 6.0 Mavrk Mid 2’s. Taking inspiration from the beauty found both in the endless concrete of Brooklyn and the persistent sunshine of Rio de Janeiro, Caranguejo do Norte flipped 6.0’s newest skate silhouette to represent Beleza or “Beauty” in Portuguese. The Mavrk Mid 2 is now available as part of the Nike iD program. To kick off it’s launch, Rad Collector and Nike 6.0 will give the first three people to holler at us on Twitter the chance to customize their own pair. More looks at the “Beleza” Mavrk Mid 2 after the jump.

National Film Festival for Talented Youth | Action Sports Category

05 February 2010, 18.55 | Posted in festivals, films | No comments »

With such a nifty name, the NFFTY film fest has got to be pretty rad. Seriously though, Nike 6.0 joined forces with the festival to create an Action Sports Category that enables aspiring shredumentarians aged 22 and under to submit films for the Seattle event being held this April 29 through March 2. Here are the rules:

The action sports category is open to any short film (30 minutes or under) that represents, showcases or is inspired by Action Sports, including skateboard, snowboard, surf, moto, wake, BMX, or freeski. In order to meet eligibility criteria for NFFTY 2010: 1) the film’s director must have been 22 years old or younger at completion of filming; 2) all music and other copyrighted material used in films must be original or filmmaker must have obtained permission from the owner; and, 3) the film must be in English or subtitled in English.

The deadline for the action sports category is Feb. 15th and you can enter right here.

redledge 540x304 Nike 6.0 Greatest Hits | Red Ledge
Showing their continued dedication to core shredding, Nike 6.0 has created the Greatest Hits project at Mt. Seymour, British Columbia. For the next month, Nike 6.0 will be recreating three legendary shred spots at Mt. Seymour, starting this Saturday, January 30th, with the Red Ledge from Montmorency Falls in Quebec City. Not necessarily anti-Olympic, Greatest Hits is more of a reminder that snowboarding is way more about homies than medals and flags and each fabricated spot is being chosen through an online vote at Nike6.com. Spot #2 is a BC electrical box and spot #3 is still TBD. 6.0 and Mt Seymour are also throwing in lots of treats during each session. We’ll have more on this throughout the month. Full info after the jump.
