In some amazing news for NYC skateboarding, the Maloof brothers have announced that they are bringing their big money Maloof Cup to the city this summer. 5Boro’s Steve Rodriguez will design the course along with Chris Cole, Geoff Rowley, and Joe Ciaglia from California Skateparks. After the event the $1.8 million dollar installation at Flushing Meadows will be donated to the city and will no doubt further establish the Queens spot as a world wide skate destination. Expect madness to descend on June 5th and 6th as the east coast goes nuts trying to snatch a piece of the $250,000 total purse.

Last night Home studios in Manhattan played host to the Vans x Hellz collection release party. The place was filled with sneakerheads and dime pieces alike peepin the new women’s footwear, having drinks and then having some more. Music for the night was provided by sets from DJ Elle and Roxy Cottontail. After the party? You guessed it, was the after party. It went down at Greenhouse with QuestLove on the tables till who knows when. Peep a gang of pics after the jump.

The Vans Crew is in NYC for the Vans x Hellz Collection release party and to showcase the 2010 Spring and Fall collections. In the midst of all the craze they invited Rad Collector to the showroom to get a sneak peek at all the goods. Chris Overholser walked us through all the newest updates to the Vans Classics, Vault, and California Collections as well as all the new the artist and brand collabos.To put it lightly it was dope. Prevent This Tragedy NYC Premiere

Converse Skateboarding and Thrasher Magazine have joined forces for what looks like is gonna be one banger of a film in Prevent This Tragedy. In anticipation of the mayhem the movie’s release is going to bring, both entities have linked up with NYC party-makers extraordinaire, Good Peoples to throw the NYC premiere tonight. Quiksilver x Autumn | NYC Videos

Late this summer, Quiksilver came to NYC and hooked up a dope pop up shop / mini ramp / art space with the Autumn crew. Located at 201 Mulberry, the spot morphed into the epicenter of the NYC skate world for a few days and was an example of a perfectly executed project. They produced a series of videos documenting the whole process which are now all up on GrindTV. Check out five episodes in all.

Just a couple weeks after opening their new flagship store on N. Fairfax in LA, everybody’s favorite skate supply brand is opening up a NYC pop up. Based in the Prohibit space on Allen Street in the Lower East Side, the Diamond pop up will be the only place for exclusive colorways of their Varsity Jacket and Sade laser etched boards as well as their full line of softgoods. The shop will run until January 2nd at 152 Allen St, 10002.

The Volcom NYC store played host to the opening of the Andy Kessler Memorial Benefit Art Show this past Saturday night. Friends and admirers of Andy’s like Geoff Rowley, Pat Conlon, Mike Zepeda, Alex Corporan and Lance Mountain showcased the artistic soul of skateboarding by donating their works for a silent auction. The evening honoring a true NYC skate legend was missing only one thing, Andy himself. More pics after the jump.

This year’s Neverland, featuring a mind-blowing cast that includes Travis Rice, Dan Brisse, Bode Merrill, Nicolas Müller, Sylvain Bourbousson, JP Solberg, Romain deMarchi, DCP, Marc Frank Montoya, Annie Boulanger, Marie-France Roy, Jules Reymond, Wille Yli-Luoma, Cale Zima, Phil Damianakes, Wolfgang Nyvelt, Kevin Pearce, Eero Ettala, and Gigi Rüf may be their greatest masterpiece to date.
