Rob Dyrdek’s Monster Back Tattoo

08 December 2010, 16.35 | Posted in craze, Skateboarding, videos | 1 comment »

In a move that can only be defined as totally bullshit or totally batshit crazy, Rob Dyrdek has tattooed the Monster Energy logo on his entire back. Check it out as artist Jun Cha hooks him up with some serious brand dedication. If it’s real, they must have wrote him one hell of a check.

Empressario supreme Rob Dyrdek jumped off the debut of his latest DC collection with the Make Your Own Luck Fashion Show at the DC Shoes Store in Hollywood. The geriatric models are definitely a nice twist but what we like most about this video are the multiple Renee Renee appearances. Come back to the blog bro!

It’s only fitting that the man on his way to being the Bill Gates of skateboarding link up with the actual Bill Gates to help promote the latter’s next big project, Windows Phone 7. To coincide with the phone’s big launch tomorrow, Rob Dyrdek is doing a cross country roadtrip (by plane of course) with actress Minka Kelly that will take him from NYC to Manhattan, Kansas to Chicago to Vegas to San Francisco and along the way he’ll meet up with people who have tweeted adventure ideas to twitter.com/windowsphone. Sounds rad, our only question is, who the hell is Minka Kelly?

SL RobDyrdek sky Street League | DC Pro Tour Qualifiers Las Vegas
The final stop of the DC Pro Tour aka Rob Dyrdek’s Street League Skateboarding is in full qualifying mode today at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Arena in sweltering Las Vegas. Arguably the 22 best skateboarders in the world are skating qualifying heats for a shot at tomorrow’s 150 grand first place prize, part of the 1.2 million dollar haul for the three stop tour. With wins under their belt in Phoenix, Arizona and Ontario, California respectively, Nyjah Huston and Sean Malto are in the prime positions to snag the overall title. We asked Rob Dyrdek for a prediction and received this enthusiastically diplomatic reply, “I feel like this course was made for Shane O’Neill, but at the same time the course is so technical I think it opens it up to guys like Koston and PJ Ladd who haven’t made it into the finals yet. But then again Chaz Ortiz doesn’t miss tricks and Torey Pudwill is so gnarly, it’s too hard to predict!” Hey, what do you expect from the man who hand picked the field of competitors? No worries, we’ll have the results for you tomorrow as well as tons of more coverage. Check out some pics from qualifiers after the jump.

Radcollector columnist Jason Bergh just dropped three commercials for Rob Dyrdek’s Street League which started airing on ESPN 2 last night. These are hilarious and cut straight to a very valid point – all these jam format shit show contests are horrible. Check out the other two ads on Jason’s column and stay tuned for our first hand coverage of the Street League Finals from Vegas later this month.

Rob Dyrdek had a blowout of epic proportions this weekend at the Fantasy Factory in Los Angeles. Appearances by Pharrel, The Game, most professional skateboarders of any note, and the Mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa on a zipline were just a few of the highlights from the day which was also a benefit for Dyrdek’s Skate 4 Life foundation. Check out Renee Renee’s always amazing column for his megapost of photos and video from the event.
