My good friend Julio Pardo is showing his photography this Sunday in Brooklyn. It’s going to be sick! I was privy enough to get a peek at the zine tonight. I’m sure the exhibit will hold up to its expectations of the zine. Julio’s photo show and zine release party will be joined with close friend Amanda Merten Sunday, January 22nd, 7pm to 10pm, Trumbull Studios, 143 Roebling st, #5 ( 3rd Floor ) in Brooklyn NYC. Show curated by Ripe. Congrats Julio!!!

His work was admired by a great crowd from the Skateboard community to the NYC art aficionados and Jesse’s loyal fans. Bomb lager was in the house along with our friends at Wampum Skate Shop and Reed Space. Be sure to check out this exhibit through Feb 1st, 2012.

Nic Mercer has been skateboarding in NYC since the mid 80’s and witnessed the scene grow from one generation to the next. From New Jersey Nic traveled every weekend to cross the river and start his day at the Brooklyn Banks. He met so many talented skateboarders an artists over the years from skating in NYC. The vibe of the inner city skateboard culture will always be a big inspiration to his life and to his music. In this track Nic tries to capture the peak of the 1990’s skate era in this freestyle influenced by the great Notorious BIG.
P.S. “Most rappers could care less about skateboarding, but yet they bite our styles all day… you got to love it.” Nic Mercer.
