Updown Mag #13 | Behind the Cover

10 September 2009, 16.42 | Posted in films, magazines, online, snowboarding | No comments »

The new issue of Updown has E-Man Anderson on the cover with a pretty gnarly gash in his face that has a lot of people wondering. “Hollywood magic?” The answer, of course, is heck no, they’re Canadian. So in response they’ve released this behind the cover video to set the record exactly straight. Speaking of E-Man – you can peep his part and the entire movie of This Video Sucks at either the ThirtyTwo, Stepchild, Transworld, or Onboard sites starting yesterday. The video doesn’t really suck.

To promote their recent interview with Nate Bozung, Updown Magazine bet Bozwreck that he couldn’t fit 20 versions of fuck into a one minute teaser and still have it make any sense. Boy did he prove them wrong. Peep the whole interview with snowboarding’s renegade baller at on October 5th or better yet, find a real copy and read it the old fashioned way – on the can.

Monster Magazine x Bright | Brooklyn Banks Display

17 July 2009, 19.20 | Posted in magazines, photography, Skateboarding, tradeshows | No comments »

Europe’s big skate tradeshow, Bright, went down in Frankfurt, Germany last week. Dopest booth award has got to go to Monster Magazine, Germany’s top skateboarding magazine, who recreated the Brooklyn Banks using photography from Gerhard Stochl. Digitally fusing the photos and blowing them up to almost life size created a room that’s about as near to the experience of being at the banks without a plane ticket to NY, except couldn’t skate it. Monster’s NYC issue drops in October. Check out some more pics of the booth here.
