Go Skate the Brooklyn Banks Right Now!

It’s true, today is the last day to skate the infamous Brooklyn Banks for who knows how long. That means its time to stop whatever you are doing and go there right now, if enough people show up maybe they won’t be able to really shut it down! In this dope clip filmed in December 2009, Mike Vallely reflects on growing up on the east coast and how much the Brooklyn banks help shape his life as a young skater. Unfortunately the banks are closed until 2014 so this vid is gonna have to tide us over for a while. Urban renewal can really suck.

Right on the pegs of his latest Gatorade commercial, Nike 6.0 has released this spot for their upcoming Holiday 09 apparel collection campaign. Short and fly, it’s a continuation of Nigel’s commitment to reppin hard for NY. Once again, peep the cameo by the Brooklyn Banks. If only those walls could receive royalties.

All, 5boro, Rival, KCDC, Autumn, Homage and more are sponsoring a massive clean up party for the Brooklyn Banks on Saturday April 11. You can pretty much guarantee this is going to turn into some sort of trick contest and that New York’s crew of heavyweights will be around to kick off the start of skate season.
