We are honored to once again be supporting one of the raddest urban grass roots organizations out there, Hoods to Woods, as they prepare for the 2015 snowboard season with their annual fund raiser. If you are in NYC tonight come on down to Putnam’s Pub in Brooklyn for food, drinks, music, a raffle featuring goods from Nike SB, Lakai, Arc’teryx and more and of course the chance to make a difference in a young shredders life. Blotto for Hood to Woods

Epic snowboard photographer Dean Blotto Gray is lending a hand to Brooklyn’s Hoods to Woods Foundation in the form of two limited edition pieces which will be auctioned at the organization’s fundraiser this Friday September 27th at the House of Art gallery in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. “Barrel Ollie” featuring Mark Sollors, and “Shadow Shred” featuring Gigi Rüf, Romain DeMarchi, Danny Davis, and Heikki Sorsa will both be up for grabs. Hoods to Woods X Fight the City | NYC Fundraiser

Our friends at the Hoods to Woods Foundation have partnered with lifestyle brand NY Brawlers for a custom boxing glove art show titled “Fight The City” featuring artist from around the world. Part of the proceeds will help fund Hoods to Woods Foundation free outdoor programs to inner city teens. The event takes place tonight at the Times Hotel in NYC from 7p – 10p. In some great news for the day, the Brooklyn youth organization Hoods to Woods was granted 501(c)(3) non profit status this week. Founded by artist/designer/shredder and Radcollector columnist Brian Deka Paupaw in 2009 after a global shred journey showed him that being on a board can change lives, Hoods to Woods gives kids specifically from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn the opportunity to experience another world through skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding. Our homie and columnist Brian Deka Paupaw’s Hoods to Woods foundation gives kids from Deka’s hood of Bed Stuy, Brooklyn the chance to experience and learn from snowboarding, skateboarding, and art. Recently FlatFitty got involved with the foundation and allowed the kids to design a limited edition Hoods to Woods hat. This edit by Deka and Khalid West gives a very real feel for how rad this unique local Brooklyn movement really is, right down to the surprise visit from fellow Bed Stuy dweller Trevor Andrew. Radcollector is proud to be a part of Brooklyn-based non profit Hoods to Woods fundraiser BBQ this Saturday July 17, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The BBQ will benefit the Harold Hunter Foundation scholarship program at Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania and will give guests the chance to see the home environs of the kids learning to surf, skate, and snowboard through the work of both of these great organizations. This Sunday, May 2 the LES will be in full bloom for the 2010 Harold Hunter Run, Nike Sportswear and the Harold Hunter Foundation’s annual charity run. This year, our columnist Deka Paupaw’s Hoods to Woods Foundation has gotten on board with the Harold Hunter Foundation to help bring some kids from the city to Camp Woodward for a once in a lifestyle skateboarding experience.
