Wilfredo Gomez Pro Model

There is definitely alot of hype around “How to Make it in America,” HBO’s new downtown NYC-based series. Whether the show makes it or not remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, they really went the extra mile in the marketing. Aside from the Green Lantern mixtape and the Alife hats, they’ve gone so far as to produce the pro model deck of the skateboarder character Wilfredo Gomez and are selling it on HBO.com. Since Javier Nunez plays the yet-to-appear character, it only makes sense that Shut made the decks. There’s another Shut connection too, Creative Director Eli Gesner is a consultant. Harold Hunter Foundation Limited Restock at Shut

Concluding our coverage of Agenda, Volkswagen gave Rad Collector an exclusive opportunity to push a 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTI from LA to Huntington Beach. A whip in it’s own class, between the turbo charged intercooler engine and the dual GPS displays, the GTI proved to be the perfect accoutrement to the show. Luis Tolentino Mini Interview

Queens native and top Shut am Luis Tolentino solidified a place in history at this year’s Tampa Am by tying the world record for the highest ollie at 44.5 inches held by Danny Wainwright. The real question is now which shoe company is gonna step up and make this kid into Air Luis, seriously. RadCollector linked up on the snowy streets on NYC to hear how the whole thing felt. Now this one is just loko. Shut is pulling some Crazy Eddie shit and having a $1 t-shirt sale in honor of Black Friday this week. It’s supposed to be only one per customer but if you pack some fake moustaches and wigs and maybe a change of clothes or two, you can probably get away with getting like 4 or 5 shirts before the Concierge catches you. Rad Collector - Stoked Awards Recap
As we mentioned, the Stoked Awards went off last Thursday with an amazing display of emotion and generosity. Awards were given for Volunteer of the Year, Mentor Pair of the Year and for Achievement, with the latter going to Quiksilver CEO Bob McKnight. To top it all off, Sal Masekela got the people in the room to cough up another $20,000 on top of the $80,000 he had already generated by running the NYC Marathon this month. Check out a full recap of the evening over at ESPN. More photos of people who have helped make Stoked a success after the jump including Shut, Red Bull, Milk Studios, CCS, and Michael Orenstein who ran the marathon with Sal and made sure he finished. Good stuff.
